IOGEAR Wireless USB to VGA Kit Offers HD Video Streaming Between PCs And HDTVs & Projectors

IOGEAR are set to launch their new Wireless USB to VGA Kit which offers users the ability to clone and extend their desktops via video streaming to other monitors, HDTVs or projectors wirelessly in up to 720p HD quality at ranges of up to 30 feet.

Consisting of a USB dongle with connects wirelessly to a VGS adapter that simply plugs into the remote device is, unfortunately, detailed as being only compatible with Windows XP 32-bit (SP2) and Vista (32- and 64-bit) and is, according to IOGEAR ‘an eco-conscious choice for users who want an environmentally-friendly way to streamline entertainment and work spaces’.

‘At IOGEAR, we strive to bring the most innovative products to market to meet the demands of consumers,’ said Miranda Su, executive vice president of IOGEAR, who introduced the new USB to VGA Kit. ‘Our new Wireless USB to VGA Kit eliminates the hassle of multiple tangled wires, providing wireless communication between popular home and office devices.’

Due to become available from September, IOGEAR’s USB to VGA Kit will retail for around $230.

    1. [...] Combine this little gizmo with a wireless USB hub and you could almost have your PC in a separate room to you: it’s a wireless VGA cable. The USB to VGA kit consists of a transmitter dongle and a receiver with a VGA-socket. It’s probably aimed more at swanky PC-projector setups, since it can cope with video of up to 720p quality over a range of 30-feet, and sadly is only compatible with Windows XP and Vista machines. Due in September for around $230. [TFTS] [...]

[TFTS] [...]

I really like this idea. Is there something that will extend my keyboard/mouse the same way? Showing something in another room is great but having to walk back to the computer to start /stop etc. would be really inconvenient.
