DXG USA have unveiled their new DXG-595V HD camcorder which DXG bill as offering consumers ‘real 1080p HD quality video, plus an 8-megapixel still camera, compact size and sleek look and everything they need to shoot, edit, review and share their most memorable experiences’ and which DXG proudly claim is ‘the ultimate package for a fraction of what they’re used to spending on a high-end camcorder’.

Offering 1920 x1080 resolution video at 30 frames per second video capture as well as boasting 8MP stills capture capabilities, the DXG-595V, which sports a 3” 960 x 240 resolution TFT, comes with 5x optical zoom and 32MG of integrated flash memory based storage capacity though, thankfully, the DXG-595V also records directly to SDHC memory – allowing for up to a purported 8 hours of HD footage to be saved to 8GB SDHC cards.
Measuring in at 5 x 2.75 x 2.24″ and weighing in 296.8g, the DXG-595V comes with USB 2.0, A/V out and Component out connections and will set you back around $200 though US readers may be interested to know that we’ve found the DXG-595V listed on Walmart’s site for just $180 (though, at the time of writing, they appear to be awaiting stock).
