Having only recently made the observation that Asus appear set on releasing a new range of Eee PCs on an almost weekly basis in our post concerning the new Asus Eee PC 900A, news hot off the wires brings us details of yet more Eee PCs that are hitting the Taiwanese market in the form of the Asus Eee PC 1000HD XP, Eee PC 904HD XP, Eee PC 901 XP and the Eee PC 900 XP 16G.
Apart from the fact that you almost need a ‘Spotters Guide’ to Eee PCs (much like an aircraft spotters guide coming with tick boxes you can mark off when you’ve seen each version in the wild – your mission, should you chose to accept it, to spot every variant and have all boxes ticked for maximum kudos) these new Taiwanese Eee PCs come – as their naming suggests – with Windows XP OS and a range of both HDDs and SSDs: specifically, the 1000HD XP and 904HD XP coming with 80GB SATA HDDs, whilst the 901 XP and 900 XP have 12GB and 16GB SSD units respectively.
All these new Eee variants sport 8.9” displays apart from the Asus Eee PC 1000HD which sports the larger 10” screen though each comes with the ‘standard’ (is there a standard Eee anymore?) features with the 901XP offering additional draft-N support whilst the 1000HD offers integrated Bluetooth.
Pricing of the new Taiwanese Eee PCs is (in USD equivalent), $542, $479, $542 and $447 for the1000HD XP, 904HD XP, 901 XP and 900 XP respectively.
No news as at the time of writing whether all or any of these new Eee PC variants will make it outside of Taiwan.
