
Cannon have announced two new, all-in-one multifunction colour photo printers, the Pixma MP480 and the Pixma MP190, which, according to Canon, ‘exemplify why Canon is the imaging expert in our industry’ and which come with a 1.8-inch TFT colour LCD display and 20ppm/16ppm (for black/colour respectively) output, in the case of the MP480, and 4800 x 1200 dpi color resolution in the case of the MP190.

Canon Pixma MP480 Photo All-in-One Printer
Equipped with a 1.8-inch TFT color LCD display and easily navigated control panel, the PIXMA MP480 Photo All-In-One combines elegant design with easy operation. Canon has included Auto Photo Fix and Auto Scan Mode, reducing the steps necessary to print a beautiful photo or capture a great scan. Auto Photo Fix, with Easy-PhotoPrint EX software, automatically detects the type of photo being printed – portrait or scenery – and helps to correct red eye, facial tones, brightness, contrast and color saturation to provide better looking photo output without manual photo editing.
The PIXMA MP480 AIO provides another convenient feature, Auto Scan Mode, which, detects the type of document being scanned – Photo, Post Card, Business Card, Magazine, Newspaper, Document – and automatically crops and saves files to PDF or JPEG format, based on image type. These automatic software features add one more level of convenience that is sure to be a hit with the less tech-savvy consumer.

Canon Pixma MP190 Photo All-in-One Printer
Aimed at the more economically minded consumer, the PIXMA MP190 Photo All-In-One features a maximum of 4800 x 1200 dpi color resolution, and a minimum two-picoliter droplet size to deliver outstanding photo quality. Text printing speeds are up to 19 ppm for black and up to 15 ppm for color, providing users with high speed to go along with high quality.
The printer also delivers 4 x 6 inch borderless photo quality prints in approximately 70-seconds. Additional features include the Advanced Z-Lid expansion top allowing users to place bulkier books or small 3-D objects for scanning on the platen glass and holds them down for a more clear copy or scan.
The Canon Pixma MP480 and the Pixma MP190 retail for around $50 and $70 respectively.
