Duracell have released their new PowerSource Mini pocket-sized portable battery charger which, thanks to its integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a mini USB pivot arm (which is supplemented by a mini USB connector) can be used to provide emergency power to your USB devices when the juice is running low whilst out and about and which comes in two specific models designed for use with iPods and Blackberry devices – though, naturally, the PowerSource Mini is capable of charging a host of other gadgetry such as cell phones, PDAs, PMPs or PSPs.
Billed as offering ‘power on the go’, Duracell’s PowerSource Mini, thanks to offering both a full sized USB connector as well as a mini USB connector can charge two devices at one if required and comes complete with an LED battery/charge status indicator as well as an AC adapter and a DC adapter allowing you to recharge the unit at home via wall sockets as well as your car though the device can also accept power via its USB connector allowing for the PowerSource Mini to power up its internal battery from both computers and laptops if required.

‘Everyone wants their charge to last a little longer, and the Duracell My Pocket Charger and PowerSource Mini will provide the personal power insurance every road warrior needs,’ said Rick June, Duracell Vice President and General Manager. ‘Our portable devices give us the freedom to work, communicate and be entertained from almost any location. These charging solutions extend that freedom when you can’t be near a power outlet.’
Billed as offering enough extra charge for up to 24 hours of additional music when used with Apple’s Nano or an additional hour of talk time when used with Blackberrys or Motorola cell phones, Duracell’s PowerSource Mini has just become available for just shy of $50.
