As far as peripherals go whilst Microsoft undoubtedly produce reliable and functional products its range of keyboards and mice are, its fair to say, hardly ever flaunting any particular innovation or, for that matter, any sense of overt design flair but that could be set to change thanks to a leak that details a new, crescent shaped collapsible, optical notebook mouse from MS known as the Arc.

Detailed in a press release that has since been removed as ‘the information is currently under embargo’, Microsoft’s Arc portable mouse, which appears to be set for a pre-Christmas launch, offers the ease of use of a full sized mouse that can be folded to afford it the same degree of portability as a traditional notebook mouse and, according to the (now removed) release, ‘is all about the fashion edge, with a stylish micro transceiver that you can leave right in your computer’.
No specifics are available at the time of writing, though the release did advise that MS’s Arc Portable Mouse will become available in red and black and retail for around $60 at the point of release.
