Buffalo Intro 2.4GHz Wireless Solar Panel Eco Friendly Media Keyboard

We’ve had solar powered calculators for years now so, in retrospect, it was only a matter of time until a company brought the idea of solar power to a low energy device such as a keyboard and Buffalo have done exactly that with their new Wireless Media Keyboard which comes complete with adjustable solar panel allowing for the device to tout its green credentials.

The keyboard comes with a series of 17 media hot keys with all the usual suspects on offer (play, pause, mail, web browser, print, save, etcetera) and a USB stick style 2.8GHz wireless receiver that simply plugs into your PC or laptop/notebook allowing for cable free operation at distances of up to 10 meters whilst the sun’s rays serve to power the device. And, contrary to the comments made by a number of sites (though not the one duly credited), the keyboard also comes with backup battery power so, no, it will not suddenly cease to operate in low level lighting conditions (guys, do your homework – or at least visit the product page and have a little read prior to reeling off a post).
Buffalo’s 2.4GHz Wireless Solar Panel Eco Friendly Media Keyboard has just become available in Japan for the equivalent of around $122/£62/€78 (valid at the time of writing).
