Mitsubishi Intro 149 Series iSP LT-46149 and LT-52149 HDTVs [16 Speaker iSP HDTVs]

Mitsubishi have announced two new 149 Series iSP 1080p HDTV units in the form of the LT-46149 and LT-52149 both of which feature a 16 channel Integrated Sound Projector (iSP) promising a truly immersive surround sound experience without the need to hook up your TV to a separate surround sound home theater system though, arguably, in being housed in a single unit one suspects that, as impressive as the new 149 Series 16 channel surround sound capabilities undoubtedly are, in practice its never quite going to compare with units offering satellite based speakers placed strategically around your room.

The new Mitsubishi LT-46149 and LT-52149 HDTV units sport 46” and 56” screen sizes respectively and come complete with Mitsubishi 120Hz picture technology as well as one-way CableCARD support – for receiving cable based broadcasts without the need for a set top box – as well as HDMI and PCM inputs and, whilst full blown specifications are not yet available, it is known that the 46” LT-46149 and 56” LT-52149 will retail for $3300 and $3700 respectively and will become available sometime in July (though no actual release date for either model is provided).
