Having already seen a fairly recent price drop it would appear that another revision in pricing may be on the cards for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 HD gaming console (interestingly just before this years E3 is set to commence) if what is purported to be a scan of an up and coming Kmart advertisement said to be set for release from July 6 transpires to be authentic.
The image of Kmart’s apparent advertisement, which was posted by a user of the High-Def Digest forums, shows the 20GB Xbox 360 model (formerly known as the Xbox Pro) with a price tag of $299.99 which is a price cut of $50 and, whilst hardly a colossal pricing revision will no doubt serve to draw more consumers to MS’s HD gaming console. Interestingly, however, as the ad only concerns the Xbox 360 20GB model we can only speculate as to whether the entire Xbox 360 range will see pricing revisions – though it would somewhat absurd to reduce just the 20GB model without rolling out price reductions across all models.

We should ad at this juncture that the scan purporting to show what is said to be a Kmart ad indicating a price reduction has not been officially corroborated at this stage (though it certainly looks authentic) so it goes without saying that the above should be treated as rumour rather than substantiated fact at this stage.

Gotta love price wars over gaming gadgets as the consumer always wins.
