Panasonic 3G Tropical 823P Waterproof GPS Cell Phone

Panasonic have unveiled initial details concerning their up and coming waterproof Tropical 823P 3G cell phone which looks set to go head to head with the likes of Fujitsu’s F103i, F705i and F706i waterproof cell phones to which Panasonic’s 823P, it has to be said, bares a somewhat striking, though we don’t doubt wholly coincidental resemblance.
At the time of writing details are extremely scarce, however, what is known is that Panasonic’s 3G Tropical 823P, which measures in at a mere 50 x 108 x 17.6 and weighs 132g, comes with a 3” QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera, integrated Bluetooth, GPS, HSDPA and 1Seg support.
Set for a release on June 28 in Japan via Softbank, the Panasonic 3G Tropical 823P will be made available in pure white, cherry pink, marine blue and lime green colours though neither pricing details or the scope of the 823P’s waterproofing (Fujitsu’s F706i with built-in TV functionality, for example, is known to be capable of withstanding depths of up to 3 meters for periods of up to 30 minutes) has been provided at this stage.
