Pure One DAB Radio Gets Shrunk, Becomes Pure One Mini

DAB & FM RDS EcoPlus Radio

Pure One Mini DAB Digital Radio with RDS

We have its older, and larger, brother, the original Pure One, on the desktop right in front of us and we have to say we’d be lost without it so it goes without saying that, based on our experience of the original Pure One the new Pure One Mini DAB RDS radio will doubtless be a sterling performer delivering crystal clear digital radio albeit in a somewhat smaller package.

Capable of tuning into standard FM broadcasts as well as DAB stations (specifically DAB Band III 174–240 MHz and FM 87.5–108 MHz), the Pure One Mine measures in at a beautifully compact 130 x 135 x 60mm, offers an integrated 16 x 2 character LCD screen to display station info or tuning frequency for DAB and FM broadcasts respectively and can be powered either by mains supply or an optional battery pack allowing for portability.

Sound wise, the Pure One Mini offers a full range 3” drive unit rated at 1.6W RMS (that, if its anything like its bigger brother, provides surprisingly good and well-rounded sound quality) whilst the device also offers a 3.5mm line-in socket to connect auxiliary equipment (such as MP3 players, for example) and a min USB connection to allow for firmware updates. In also belonging to Pure’s EcoPlus family of devices the One Mini also boasts reasonable greed credentials in terms of power consumption and the use of recycled materials in the units manufacture.
