World’s Thinnest HDTVs with Integrated Tuners

JVC Super Slim LT-42SL89 LT-46SL89 1080p LCD HDTVs

JVC have officially unveiled their new 42” LT-42SL89 and 46” LT-46SL89 Full HD (1080p) ‘super slim’ LCD HDTV units which, JVC claim, are the world’s thinnest tuner-equipped LCD HDTV units in measuring in from a mere 1.5” (39mm) in thickness to 2.9” (74mm) at their thickest point at each of the panels centre.

Whilst JVC is being unusually tight-lipped concerning their new LT-42SL89 and LT-46SL89 units it is known that both come with JVC’s new slim backlight unit – billed as being 40 percent smaller in depth and bezel width compared to a conventional LCD backlight – offer 1920 x 1080 resolution and come with integrated TV tuners, 3x HDMI, S-Video and VGA ports.

JVC have not yet, however, release full specifications concerning either models but have confirmed that botht he LT-42SL89 and LT-46SL89 super slim HDTV units will become available sometime in July in the US and will retail for around $1900 and $2400 for the 42” LT-42SL89 and 46” LT-46SL89 models respectively.
