Klipsh RoomGroove Wireless iPod Speaker Docking Station

iPod Wireless Multi-Room Music System

RoomGroove Wireless iPod Wireless Speaker

Klipsch have announced their new RoomGroove Wireless iPod Speaker which, apart from serving as a standard iPod recharging docking station, comes complete with KlipschCast technology allowing you to create a 2.4GHz wireless multi-room music system with two or more RoomGroove systems and which also offers Klipsh CS-700 home theatre compatibility facilitating the transmission of ‘CD-quality AM/FM radio, TV and movie sound all over your house.’

Offering compatibility with all ‘dockable’ (30-pin) iPod models as well as other MP3 players (and older, non docking iPods) courtesy of an auxiliary line-in input, the RoomGroove Wireless iPod Speaker comes with 1” tweeter supplemented by a 2.5” woofer (any comparable iPod speaker system that comes sans woofer is simply a waste of time in our opinion – music without decent bass reproduction is like a massage without the…) as well as MicroTractrix Horn (don’t tell the wife) fed by a Class-D amplifier and, thanks to employing 2.4GHz wireless technology can broadcast wireless signals up to 75ft through both walls and ceilings.

Of particular note, especially for those already running wireless setups in their home, the Klipsh RoomGroove also comes with the ability to ‘sniff out’ (as the official product site refers to it) other wireless technologies in use – i.e., routers, other wireless home entertainment systems – and will bracket its signals around those in use ensuring that interference is not an issue.

Available just in black at the time of writing (no pink version – 10 points from us) the Klipsch RoomGroove Wireless iPod Speaker will set you back just shy of $200.
