Southwing have announced that they are to make their new SH240 bluetooth headset, which features Whisper Mode, which announces incoming calls, and Auto Call Pickup technology (the latter serving to automatically answer incoming calls in three seconds without any user intervention) is to become available to US consumers exclusively through AT&T.

‘Southwing has become one of the leading Bluetooth vendors in Europe and we are excited to bring yet another great product to the United States. We’re very pleased to continue our relationship with AT&T and to expand our product range even further with the SH241,’ said Bart Huisken, the founder of Southwing, who announced Southwing’s collaboration with AT&T whilst Michael Cowan, Director, Product Marketing for AT&T’s wireless operations added, ‘Unique features like the ability to announce the incoming call number through the headset combined with a great price point makes this device a quality option for many customers.’

Apart from the aforementioned features, Southwing’s SH240 bluetooth headset, which measures in at 57mm x 18mm x 10mm and weighs around 10 grams, offers up to 7 hours of talktime and 200 hours standby time, can be paired with up to four bluetooth devices and is billed as being suitable for use with both left and right ears.

Due to be made available with three interchangeable covers, 12 ring tones, and 4 different ear buds allowing you to ‘personalize your headset to your own style and comfort’ Southwing’s SH240 bluetooth headset will retail for just short of $40 and will become available via AT&T stores in the US sometime in the near future – though Southwing’s press release offers no actual release date.

UPDATE 12/06/08: We’ve just heard from SouthWing themselves that their SH240 is now ‘in the wild’ (thanks guys).
