Westinghouse Unveil Series of New HDTV LCD Displays, From HDTVs to HDTV/DVD Combos, Portables And Gaming Screens [Westinghouse HDTV Range Expands, Dramatically]

Westinghouse obviously don’t believe in doing things by half in announcing a raft of new HDTV displays ranging from HDTVs (TX-42F430S, TX-47F430S, TX-52F480S) to the VK-40F580D HDTV/DVD combo, a series of portables (PT-16H120S, PT-19H140S and the dual hinged PT-16H610S) and a new set of screens aimed specifically at the discerning HD video gamer (SK-26H730S and SK-26H590D which also features integrated DVD player).

Westinghouse New TX Series HDTV LCD Models
Westinghouse’s new 52” TX-52F480S, 47” TX-47F430S and 42” TX-42F430S high contrast, stand-alone LCD HDTVs come with integrated 1080Pure technology offering 1080p resolution out of all HD inputs (including component), 4 HDMI inputs, integrated ATSC/NTSC/ClearQAM tuners, 5-band equalisers allowing you to customize and optimize the sound quality, and sport sleek, deep onyx bezels with brushed titanium accents. Each model also sports energy saving modes that serve to reduce electricity consumption, somewhat impressively, to under 1W whist the devices are in standby, Autosource facilitating automatic source detection and switching of inputs.
The new TX series retails for around $2000, $1600 and $1200 for the 52”, 47” and 42” models respectively.

Westinghouse VK-40F580D 40″ LCD 1080P HDTV/DVD Combo
Becoming the largest model in their VK series, the 40” VK-40F580D offers 1080p HD resolution, comes with integrated, front loading DVD player offering Pixel Direct technology delivering DVD video to the screen using a direct path (the shortest path possible) and the least amount of signal processing, upscaling cababilities, 2xHDMI inputs, Autosource -facilitating automatic source detection and switching of inputs – and the same ATSC/NTSC/ClearQAM tuner as seen on the above detailed TX series HDTVs.
The new VK-40F580D 40″ LCD 1080P HDTV/DVD retails for around $1100.


Westinghouse New PT Series 1080i HDTV Models
Westinghouse’s three new PT series models comprise of the 19″ PT-19H140S, 16″ PT-16H120S and the 16″ PT-16H610S portable sporting a maximum of 1080i, (PT-19H140S and PT-16H120S) and 1080p, in the case of the PT-16H610S portable, utilise ATSC/NTSC/ClearQAM tuners and, in the case of the PT-16H610S portable (shown separately above), comes complete with convenient touch keypad on the base, dual hinge design, removable bezel and picture orientation features (allowing you to display the unit when mounted upside down, say, under kitchen cabinets).
The PT-16H610S portable retails for around $330 whilst the 19″ PT-19H140S and 16″ PT-16H120S retail for around $380 and $280 respectively.

Westinghouse New SK Series 1080i Compact HDTV Models
Westinghouse’s new models in its SK range come in the form of the 26″ SK-26H730S and 32″ SK-32H730S, both featuring 2x HDMI inputs, the afore mentioned Autosource intelligent switching feature and, in offering faster response times (8ms) are aimed at those looking for a HDTV units that are equally at home when hooked up to gaming consoles, whist the SK-26H590D and SK-32H590G, whilst also offering 26″ and 32″ screen sizes also come complete with integrated DVD players.
The 26″ SK-26H730S and the 32″ SK-32H730S retail for around $600 and $750 respectively, whilst the SK-26H590D and SK-32H590G units with integrated DVD players will retail for around $650 and $850.
