Who would have thought that anything associated with Ducati in any way could possibly be termed as wholly undesirable but, alas, the seemingly impossible has happened thanks to Sony Ericsson’s up and coming Ducati Z770 Cell Phone which is, even as far as tie-ins are concerned (and that’s saying something) so brash and overtly hideous that we’re surprised to the point of being shocked that Ducati have sanctioned it (which they obviously have).
Sporting a clamshell design, the Sony Ericsson Ducati Z770, which appears to ‘boast’ just a number of cosmetic changes in comparison to the standard Z770 handset, features GPRS, HSDPA, USB 2.0 + A2DP, and Bluetooth as well as a lacklustre 2 megapixel camera and Access NetFront web browser and, of course, a Ducati branded UI.

The Sony Ericsson Ducati Z770 is due to be supplied with a special edition Ducati themed HBH DS-220 headset when it’s launched in Italy in June for an as yet undisclosed price but, unless you’re an avid Ducati fanboy, we suggest that few could forgive the wholly unimaginative and uninspiring design (especially when you compare this to other Ducati themed gadgetry such as the magnificently styled and previously featured SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition USB Flash Drive).
One thing even the aforementioned avid Ducati fanboys won’t disagree with us about, however, is that Ducati deserve a great deal more respect than this. Period.
Apologies for the somewhat terrible image of the Ducati Z770 but this appears to be the only one currently made available – and, let’s face it, that’s probably not a bad thing (we wouldn’t want to give you nightmares).
