In an all too overt attempt to cash in on the up and coming Chinese Olympics, Kodak have just released their new M2008 ‘Olympics’ compact digital camera which, on the face of it, would merely appear to be a re-branded version of their M1033 ‘point and shoot’ compact with the only notable difference being the addition of the Beijing 2008 Olympics logo on the front of the camera’s shell.
Just released in China, like the aforementioned M1033, Kodak’s M2008 ‘Olympics’ compact digital camera sports a 10 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, and a 3” LCD and 720p HD resolution video capture capabilities.

A somewhat less than inspiring attempt at jumping on the extremely lucrative Olympic bandwagon, there’s no word at the time of writing as to whether the M2008 will ever see a release outside of China, where it’s just started selling for the equivalent of $270, but we suspect not.
