R2D2 Screw Top Soy Sauce Bottle – May The Soy Sauce Be With You

For those of you into all things Star Wars and who just happen to have a particular penchant for Asian cuisine perhaps this somewhat tacky R2D2 Screw Top Soy Sauce Bottle may appeal – though we suggest that any true Star Wars devotee will probably view this, much in the same way as ourselves, as a somewhat incredulous and frankly pathetic attempt to cash in on an excessively lucrative franchise.

Interestingly, as can be seen from the imagery, the packaging comes emblazoned with the Star Wars logo though we strongly suspect that this is a decidedly unofficial product and that a certain George Lucas will be less than happy about (any company that dares take on LucasArts in such a fashion is either especially bold or especially stupid as they are known for not taking prisoners when it comes to copyright infringement).

Still, perhaps this is an officially sanctioned product – though we very much doubt it (we seen no reference to LucasArts on the product page). Besides, can you envisage a certain Mr Lucas sanctioning this? No, neither can we.

The R2D2 Screw Top Soy Sauce Bottle retails for $37, which seems rather excessive.

Whatever next? An unofficial Star Wars Chewbacca Lint Brush, perhaps?
