
Samsung’s VM-HMX20 1080p HD camcorder, which was showcased in prototype form at this years CES event in Las Vegas, and is capable of not only capturing 1080p HD video footage but doing so at up to an astounding 300fps, has had its South Korean launch announced.
Capable of recording video at 1920 x 1080 resolution as well as capturing 6.4 megapixel stills, Samsung’s VM-HMX20 is not only notable for also offering up to 300fps capture in 10 second bursts, allowing footage to be significantly slowed down to create slow-motion movies without loosing fluidity, but also for its ability to capture stills imagery whilst also recording video.
Compact enough to offer single hand operation, Samsung’s VM-HMX20 sports a 2.7” widescreen fold out LCD display and utilises flash based memory with no less than 8GB offered internally which can be supplemented with the use of SD or MMC memory cards. The VM-HMX20 also comes with Anynet+ allowing the device to be hooked up to and controlled via Samsung HDTV remotes.
Samsung’s VM-HMX20 1080p HD Camcorder is launching in South Korea with suggested unit pricing of 899,000KRW – which equates to around $860 / £441 / €556 at the time of writing.
