Creative Vado VF0570-P Budget Camcorder Sets Sights on Pure Digital’s Flip YouTube/Blogging Camcorder

In mind of the phenomenal success of Pure Digital Technology’s priced Flip Video YouTube and Blogging Camcorder – a budget priced motion capture device that’s gained a not inconsiderable 13% market share in the camcorder market despite a dispute concerning the device’s full duplex single chip video codec (see link below) – Creative look set to offer what they obviously hope will gain them a slice of the action in the form of their up and coming low cost Vado VF0570-P.

Whilst little is known concerning Creative’s Vado VF0570-P – Creative are yet to announce the device in any shape or form – thanks to online retailer JR.com, who have the device listed as ‘coming soon’, we do know that the AA battery powered Vodo offers up to two hours of VGA resolution capture courtesy of 2GB of integrated memory, that it comes with YouTube compatibility and that it’s set to retail for a mere $99.99 – which makes it a direct competitor to Pure Digital’s Flip Video (specifically their Flip Video Ultra model).

We await official word as well as the release of product imagery from Creative with baited breath, though we suspect that Pure Digital, having well and truly established the Flip as the ‘original’ YouTube/blogging camcorder will be loosing little sleep in the meantime (not least because they have other, rather more pressing issues to worry about at the moment).
