Dell XPS 730 H2C Premier Gaming Desktop PC

Following hot on the heals of Alienware announcing their new Area 51 M17X Gaming Notebook, Dell have announced their new XPS 730 H2C Premier Gaming Desktop which, according to Dell’s press release, is capable of playing none other than Crisis at full 1920 x 1200 resolution as 30fps (which is no mean feat, it must be said).

A veritable beast of a machine weighing in at over 21.7kg once configured, Dell’s XPS 730 H2C, which is based on Nvidia’s nForce 790i Ultra SLI chipset, comes, as you would expect, with an alarming range of options including a range of four possible CPUs – from Intel Core 2 Due to Intel’s 45mm Core 2 Extreme – up to 1TB (1TB X 2 SATA -II 3Gb/s, 7200RPM) HDD – up to four drives can be installed - up to 8GB of RAM (Vista Ultimate X64 only), and comes with integrated Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music offering 7.1 channel audio and the AGEIA PhysX processor.

The XPS 730 H2C also comes with either air of liquid cooling options, with the air cooling option featuring Dell’s patent-pending, two-stage ceramic H2C cooling (developed in association with Intel, Delphi and CoolIT).

(Standard on Victory Red and Stealth Blue, optional on the Brushed Aluminium model).

One for the most dedicated of gamers (or just those who have money to burn) pricing starts from $3999 for the air cooled XPS 730 and $4999 for the liquid cooled XPS 730 HC and we won’t count on getting a review unit shipped to us anytime soon.
