Sony Ericsson G502 cell phone

The first image of and insight into Sony Ericsson’s up and coming G502 EDGE enabled handset have been released one day ahead of the publicised schedule and, whilst not wishing to detract from the occasion, offers little in the way of surprises.

Whilst hardly a full spec sheet, initial details confirm that Sony Ericsson’s G502 handset will be made available in either hazel or black colour schemes, sports a 2” LCD screen offering 320 x 240 resolution, a 2 megapixel integrated camera offering 4x digital zoom with the ability to capture both stills and video footage, 32MB of built-in RAM expandable with Memory Stick Micro Cards and both USB and Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR connectivity.

From an application perspective, the G502 will be capable of displaying Google Maps for Mobile and will support Exchange ActiveSync allowing you to sync the handset with Outlook (contacts and e-mail). It will also come with Sony Ericsson’s NetFront browser facilitating internet access and the reception of RSS feeds.

A non-3G, 3-band GSM device, Sony Ericsson’s G502 will purportedly become available towards the end of June in as yet undisclosed ‘selected markets’ at an unknown (at the time of writing) price point.

Update: As expected, Sony Ericsson have now officially announced the G502, as well as another handset. You can read more via Sony Ericsson Announce Z780 & G502 HSDPA ‘Stylish & Affordable’ Cell Phones.
