Rugged iPod AM/FM Radio Docking Station – The Tough Guy Mean Machine [iPod Defender]

Rugged iPod AM FM Radio Docking Station

Following on from the developing trend in the gadgetry market in offering ultra-rugged cell phones, UMPCs and notebooks this AM/FM Construction Radio takes a tough guy perspective on iPod docks in being designed specifically for use in garages, workshops and construction sites.

The AM/FM Construction Radio, apart from looking the business, comes with ‘hard side frame’ and not only serves as an iPod docking station but an AM/FM tuner and can even playback MP3 and WMA audio files directly from USB flash memory drives and SD cards as well as offering a 5V DC USB charger to top up the charge on your gadgetry as well as two AC outlets ‘so you can plug tools right into your music source’.

Measuring 16″H x 10 1/2″W x 11 1/2″D and weighing in at 10 lbs, about the only things notably lacking from the device, in terms of its target market, is an inbuilt motion sensor triggering the instantaneous playback of a woof whistle on detection of any females within 100m and the ability to churn out cups of tea at a suitably astonishing rate, but you can’t have it all can you?

This rugged iPod AM/FM radio docking station (known simple as the ‘AM/FM Construction Radio’) retails for around $130.
