Without so much as a whisper its become apparent that Toshiba are now offering a new version of its popular, ultra light Portege R500 notebook with a 128GB solid state drive (SSD) instead of the previous 64GB capacity SSD though, at the time of writing, no pricing or availability details have been made available.
Apart from sporting the aforementioned 128GB capacity SSD, the new Portege R500-12Q – a notebook which held the mantle of being the world’s lightest notebook up until Apple’s MacBook Air arrived on the scene – is otherwise unchanged with Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U7700 CPU, 2GB RAM, 12.1” WXGA TFT 1280 x 800 TFT screen with backlight technology and DVD super multi drive.
