We’ve covered a wide array of left of centre USB devices here on TFTS but this PTeq USB device has the distinction of being the first USB pregnancy test we’ve come across that not only advises if you have a child on the way but, should the results prove negative, even offers you an indication of the best periods to attempt fertilisation thus improving your chances of conceiving.
The PTeq USB Pregnancy Test works in the same way as standard electronic pregnancy tests in analysing a urine sample (applied to the devices replaceable absorbent test strips) but where this PTeq device differs is in the host of information the device offers once plugged into your PC via a USB socket – with a graph indicating ‘hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin), hCG-H (hyperglycosylated hCG – for detection before your first missed period), and LH (luteinizing hormone – for detection of your most fertile days)’.

Offering far greater detection levels than standard pregnancy tests (the PTeq USB Pregnancy Test can detect 5-50 mIU/mL of hCG as opposed to the 15-50 mIU/mL offered by other tests) not only can the PTeq USB Pregnancy Test offer you an on-screen analysis of your hormone levels but it also comes with an integrated LCD display offering instant feedback should you wish to fall back on more traditional means of pregnancy reporting.
Boasting accuracy levels of 99% and operating without the need for batteries (the device draws power via its USB connector), the PTeq USB Pregnancy Test is compatible with Win 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Linux 2.4 or higher, Mac OS 8.6 or higher operating systems, comes with 20 test strips and retails for around $18 (or it would, were it not an April Fools joke that, on account of us being out of the country for the last couple of weeks and presently suffering jet lag following a 20+ hour flight, we fell for beautifully – thanks for the heads up Jenn, much appreciated).
