EnergySistem Inngenio 6000 Touchscreen Portable Media Player

We’ll confess that we’ve never heard of EnergySistem but, if their new Inngenio 6000 Touchscreen PMP is anything to go by perhaps we really ought to take note of the name as this touchscreen PMP, whilst bearing the inevitable comparisons with Apple’s iTouch, certainly looks, on paper at least, to be a device that is more than capable of holding its own.

As mentioned previously, on account of its large, prominent touchscreen other sites have been quick to refer to the Inngenio 6000 as an iTouch rival and, whilst we wouldn’t argue with this – not withstanding the fact that this device comes sans Bluetooth and Wi-Fi – this is far from a mere clone. Yes it looks similar, but then any PMP with prominent touchscreen invariably will (depending merely on the shape of the device). But a clone this is not.

Apart from the TFT 2.8” QVGA touchscreen display, the steel shelled Inngenio 6000, which measures in at 91 x 52 x 9 mm, comes complete with integral FM tuner with presets and recording capabilities, 2GB of internal memory expandable courtesy of a micro-SD memory card slot, integrated speakers, digital voice recorder (thanks to an in-built microphone) and a number of preloaded games as well as the seemingly obligatory e-book support. Interestingly, its also supplied with a decent pair of headphones (rather than the shoddy, overtly cheap affairs invariably supplied with such equipment).

Offered with a generous three year warranty, EnergySistem’s Inngenio 6000 Touchscreen PMP, which offers compatibility with MPEG4 (XVID to AVI/MP2 audio) / MP3 / WMA / JPG / BMP / TXT file formats will set you back a mere €90 (circa $138).
