Thanks to the announcement of their new DMP-BD30K DivX certified player, Panasonic has managed to secure the mantle of producing the first DivX certified Blu-ray standalone player in the world though quite whether DivX is quite as necessary for Blu-ray players as it was (and still is) for standard DVD discs is questionable. – still, it’s nice to know its available should it be required (nod, nod, wink, wink).
