Sometimes there’s just something especially liberating about cranking up the volume but, whilst your average iPod docking station can probably put in a reasonably sterling performance we’ll warrant that all it could muster would sound like a mere whimper when compared with the staggering 600 watts of combined music power offered by this Geneva Model XL cabinet styled iPod docking station from Geneva Labs.
Measuring in at 21.7″ x 24.1″ x 14.5″ and weighing a not insubstantial 38kgs, the Geneva Model XL, which comes with integrated FM radio tuner with 6 presets, sports no less than two 1” tweeters, two 5 ¼” woofers and two 8” sub woofers powered by a D Class digital hi-fi amplifier offering 6 x 100 watt output which, lets be honest here, is more than enough to blow the cobwebs away.

Apart from offering a Universal iPod dock, the Geneva Model XL also comes with a slot loading CD player capable of reading standard CD audio discs as well as CD-ROM and CD-RW discs as well as line-in connections allowing for a host of connectivity options from PCs to DVD players to gaming consoles and, thanks to the units EmbracingSound technology - designed to deliver rich stereo sound from a single contained unit – you can rest assured that not only will the Model XL deliver in terms of sheer, bone shuddering volume but also in terms of sound quality.
Naturally you wouldn’t expect such a capable unit to be cheap (now would you?) and it’s nice to know that Geneva Lab’s Model XL 600W iPod Docking Station, which is available in black, white and red, doesn’t disappoint in this respect either in costing a cool $2299.
