
Following on from the news of Sony‘ new 15X Zoom DSC-H50 Cyber-Shot Camera, Sony have also announced their new W300 Cyber-shot compact digital camera, the newest in their range of W Series cameras which offers 13.6 megapixel resolution Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoon lens for HD image capture.
Billed as being the toughest Cyber-shot W Series camera so far produced by Sony, thanks to the camera’s titanium, scratch proof coating, the Cyber-shot W300 sports Sony’s Clear RAW Noise Reduction and Super Steady Shot image stabilisation as well as an EX High-speed burst mode allowing for high speed image capture at up to five frames per second.
Naturally the Cyber-shot W300 also comes with Face Detection Technology which has been improved to be capable of automatically distinguishing between the faces of adults and children which is also paired with Sony’s Smile Shutter feature (which will wait until people are smiling before taking the picture).
The Cyber-shot W300 comes with a bright 2.7” LCD screen as well as an optical viewfinder and can be connected directly to Sony’s HD Bravia systems for direct viewing of HD slideshows.

Sony’s Cyber-shot W300 is due for release throughout Europe towards the end of April though, at the time of writing, no pricing information has been made available.

Certainly few would argue that Sony produce some simply stunning equipment and software (except for Sonic Stage - which is terrible).
