A few months ago we posted about Buffalo’s new MiniStation TurboUSB external hard disk drive that managed to squeeze in 320GB of capacity in an external HDD that is small enough to fit in your pocket – well now Buffalo have upped the capacity once again, resulting in this new MiniStation TurboUSB boasting half a terabyte of capacity.
Based on a 2.5” hard disk drive, the MiniStation TurboUSB measures in at a mere 12.7 x 8.4 x 2mm and weight less than 200g.
Buffalo MiniStation TurboUSB 500GB Features:
- Buffalo’s proprietary TurboUSB technology for super-speedy file transfer.
- Wrap-around cable for neat and easy storage.
- Tough armoured outer case and shock-absorbent internal design.
- Supports USB 2.0/1.1.
- Memeo AutoBackup Software for improved backup options, including regular system backup, scheduled backup and password protection.
- Buffalo’s exclusive Secure Lock Ware Encryption software for Windows.
- Support for backup program Time Machine.
According to Buffalo’s Gerardine Lynch, “Consumers are continuing to demand even higher capacities for portable drives, following the successful launch of the enhanced MiniStation range last year and the 400GB version in January. By being the first to further increase the capacity available across our range, we continue to stay one step ahead of our competitors in this area.”
Due to become available next month the 500GB MiniStation TurboUSB is expected to retail for around $207
