Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 Compact Digital Camera with 720p HD Video Capabilities

Whist camcorders offering HD capabilities are by no means anything new, Panasonic’s new 10.1 megapixel Lumix DMC-FX35 is one of the first compact stills cameras to boast full 720p HD video capture at a fluid 30 frames per second – and can even be hooked directly up to your HDTV via a optional component cable (curiously, the DMC-FX35 does not offer HDMI) for viewing HD footage directly via the camera.

Due to become available in silver and black, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35, apart from offering 720p HD video capture, sports a 25mm ultra wide angle Leica DC lens with 4x optical zoom (complete with Easy Zoom one press zooming capabilities) that can be extended to 7.1x digitally, Intelligent Auto and Intelligent Exposure modes, 21 scene modes, optical image stabilisation enhanced with Venus Engine IV image processing, 15 point face detection and the ability to create slideshows with numerous transitional effects that can be complemented with music.
Featuring a 2.5” 23,000 dot high resolution LCD display, and purportedly capable of shooting around 290 images on a single battery charge, Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FX35 is expected to be released in a matter of weeks for an as yet undisclosed price.
