After a considerable delay, Slacker’s portable player has at last put in an appearance to the tune of three models offering up to 8GB of storage allowing you to download personally tailored music selections via the Slacker online ad supported or ad-free subscription service to listen to whilst out and about.
Featuring a four inch LCD display, the Slacker Portable Player comes in three models offering 2GB, 4GB and 8GB retailing at $200, $250 and $300 respectively and allows users to download music selections from Slacker (either via their free service supported by intermittent ads, for their ad-free subscription based service) and pass these selections across from their PC or Mac to the Slacker Portable Player via Wi-Fi – the result being a device that frees you from the restraints of your desk whilst offering an almost limitless supply – 40,000 tracks and counting - of fresh music based on your personal listening preferences.
A great portable digital player for those who have expansive MP3 collections consisting of tracks they are rapidly becoming tired of, we’ll be interested to see how Slackers trail blazing Portable Player fairs – though we suspect they might be onto a winner.
