With humankind’s ever persistent drive to push the boundaries of technology ever further it’s refreshing to know that there are companies out there who obviously go to considerable lengths to circumvent all that we have learned over the past few decades to bring us products that manage to redefine words such as ‘mundane’, ‘rudimentary’ and ‘just plain tacky’ (ok, that’s three words) – of which this ShowerFloss low-tech dental hygiene shower attachment is a prime example.
It’s hard to believe that this gadget (though, in referring to it a ‘gadget’ we could be accused of elevating its standing somewhat) has been produced by the very same species that has ventured into space so many times that such exploits are barely newsworthy these days and by the very same life form that has advanced so far that not only did they develop a supersonic passenger aircraft, but that this aircraft is now merely the fodder for fond recollections and history books. Oh yes, and it’s the same life form that is continuously driven by a ceaseless desire to invent new and evermore elaborate ways of killing itself – but we’re digressing here…

Let’s not dress this ‘gadget’ up having strayed from the subject long enough. It’s a hose, but not just any hose. No, this hose attaches to your shower unit (with the aid of not just any tape, but Teflon tape) thus forcing water through a small hole via either a blue or a red attachment – blue for boy human, red for girl human – to pressure clean said boy human/girl human’s teeth and it retails for the equivalent of $31 / £16 / €21.

Sleeve? Valve? Wall Hanger?
(Don’t you just hate it when companies try to baffle you with science?)
Between you and me, we’ve heard a rumour that the company behind this hose already has plans on the drawing board for a curious device they are merely referring to as a ‘wheel’. Details are scant amidst the high levels of secrecy surrounding this ‘black project’ but TFTS can exclusively reveal that the device is purported to be round and to turn on an axis (whatever that is). Our guess is that it’s probably just another MP3 player, but don’t hold us to it.
