Ultra Compact BenQ DSC X800 Main Detail

If you’re looking for an ultra compact digital camera that also boasts PMP (Portable Multimedia Player) functionality then BenQ’s new sleek, ultra compact DSC X800 8 mega pixel digital camera is hard to ignore.

As thin as BenQ’s new 8 mega pixel DSC X800 is, it manages to pack in a surprising amount of features in a body that measures a mere 9.8mm in thickness, such as BenQ’s SSF (Super Shake Free) technology which will dynamically compensate for those with unsteady hands, Auto Face tracking capable of automatically recognising and auto-focusing on up to nine faces in any given scene, Z-Lighting balance control allowing you to adjust the lighting and balance of captured imagery and an intriguing Wise Zoom function that, according to BenQ, ‘gives you up to a 30x zoom effect in VGA size when you focus on a certain area of a distant area of a distant scene with no degradation in the quality of your photo’ (emphasis our own).

But where the DSC X800 really shines is the fact that, as well as serving as an ultra compact digital camera, it also offers full PMP functionality allowing you to watch MPEG4 AVI movies and play MP3s (the DSC X800 according also offers a headphone socket).

The Ultra Compact BenQ DSC X800 is undoubtedly a formidable compact digital camera and is due to go on sale in the first quarter of ’08 for an as yet undisclosed price.
