Sonim XP1 JCB ToughPhone - The Worlds Most Robust Cell Phone, Probably

When you have a cell phone branded with company name like JCB, who are best known for their bulldozers, diggers and all things predominantly yellow and seriously mean, it’s safe to assume that this is one mobile device that’s not going to shy away from more than its fair share of knocks and scrapes whilst making fairly lurid and suggestive remarks at any slinky LG phone that happens to pass on by – and you’d be right.
In fact, put this phone in the ring with the likes of the Razr (with its seemingly tough guy name) and you’d be daft not to place your bets on a knockout well within the first round – and lets just say that the victor wouldn’t be…well it wouldn’t be yellow.
Designed in partnership with Sonim to operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C and to withstand just about anything you can throw at it (within reason) the JCB ToughPhone may not have one of the most inspiration names we’ve come across but there’s no denying that it fits the bit perfectly as well as serves to leave you under no illusions whatsoever that this cell phone’s favourite colour probably isn’t pink and that it probably thinks that Brad’s wife’s ‘a bit of alright’ (yes this phone is not only tough, but it also has impeccable taste).

Billed as being splash resistant, drop resistant, shock resistant and dust resistant, the JCB ToughPhone has not only been tested to near destruction (including being thrown into cement mixers, apparently) but it even comes with an extra loud (exclusive) ring tone (as well as Bluetooth and push-to-talk) that sounds from two speakers so you can hear it over, we assume, a battalion of plant machinery.
The Sonim XP1 JCB ToughPhone, which can also be used as a two-way radio, is already available on a range of European networks though apparently you have to beat Mr-T at sudden death arm wrestling in order to qualify to own one (which seems a bit harsh).
