As you would expect from a product originating from a new company that happens to count none other than Robert Brunner – who headed Apple’s design team from 1989 to 1996 – the Sound Machine iPhone Dock announced by Jibe Audio not only looks startlingly beautiful but it also promises to work seamlessly with your iPhone to offer a somewhat expanded experience of Apple’s much hyped touchscreen cell phone.
Due to be launched at CES 2008, Jibe Audio’s up and coming Sound Machine iPhone Dock, which utilises flat speaker units developed with the assistance of Menlo Scientific (who have 25 years experience in developing high performance, high fidelity loudspeakers) supports Bluetooth connectivity, full synchronization with the iPhone via USB as well as a series of as yet unspecified audio inputs for a range of other audio equipment. It is also rumored that the Sound Machine may even support DVD playback and internet based radio broadcasts though, at this stage, we should stress that these rumors – which initially surfaced via BusinessWeek, are, at the time of writing, unsubstantiated.
Little in the way of further information concerning Jibe Audio’s Sound Machine iPhone Dock is available at this time, however, with CES 2008 only a few weeks away we’ll be posting further details the moment they become available.
