BenQ Reveals New Slinky DC X-835 8MP Digital Camera with Face Tracking Feature

BenQ have announced the latest in their digital compact camera range, the stylish DC X-835, which, according to the product page is ‘exquisitely designed to flatter and complement absolutely any outfit in vixen-red and midnight black’ and ‘slips effortlessly between your fingers, letting you concentrate on capturing that once-in-a-lifetime moment’ – and with steamy descriptions like this, who could accuse BenQ of anything other than abject passion for their products.

The DC X-835 8MP, which is a mere 12.5mm in thickness, offers 8MP resolution (230,000 pixels) and a SMC Pentax lens ensuring vivid colour reproduction supplemented by x3 optical magnification capabilities (x30 digital magnification) allowing you to hone in on your subjects. And if your subjects happen to be people then you’ll no doubt be pleased to know that the DC X-835 also comes with face tracking functionality capable of locking on to up to nine faces ensuring that focus is spot on even in group shots. Nothing new, of course, but a welcome addition none the less.
Add to this features such as the DC X-835’s Z-Lighting function – which allows you to adjust images’ lighting if either over or underexposed – and a high sensitivity ISO – ISO 6400 in movie mode, ISO 2000 in still capture mode – and the device’s Super Shake Free digital image stabilisation and what you have is a versatile point and shoot camera that, whilst hardly quite as inspiring as the latest offerings from the likes of Sony, is sure to prove a trusty travelling companion.
