Pimp Blue LED Star Performer Wrist Watch

Harking back to the days when it seemed somehow cool to strap a watch the size of a small mid-terraced house to your wrist whilst attempting not to fall over due to the sheer weight of the device (can you recall those digital calculator watches?), this new version of the Star Performer LED wrist watch from Pimp is sure not to go unnoticed.

Unlike many of the watches featured on the Tokyo Flash web site (where the new Blue LED version of the Star Performer Wrist Watch is detailed as soon becoming available) this watch doesn’t require a PhD in Advanced Code Breaking in order to tell the time as the device operates by simply illuminating one number in each of the 4 columns of digits available.

In addition of offering the time and, via a separate mode, the date, the watch will also illuminate a mini Martini glass if ‘it is in 12 hour mode and PM’ apparently on account of the fact that ‘drinking is usually done during this time’ and, curiously, will automatically begin flashing all the numbers randomly (simulating an apparent malfunction) between the hours of 7pm and 1am (perhaps alluding to the fact that you’ve had one Martini too many?). Very odd (but then again, the wife’s Peugeot has seemingly been touting repeated malfunctioning as a ‘bonus feature’ ever since she brought it).

The Multi-Coloured Version

(Doesn’t quite do it for us)

The Pimp Star Performer LED Wrist Watch comes in two flavours, either with multicoloured LEDs (which, in our opinion, is only ever guaranteed to make any device, however cool, look hopelessly tacky) or with just blue LED lighting, which looks far cooler, and is due to retail for around ¥19,00 – which is approximately $177 / €120 / £86.
