OptiWand USB Optical Mouse Cools Your Hand with An Internal Cooling Fan

OptiWand USB Optical Mouse

If you are prone to suffering from sweaty palms as you toil away at your workstation then help is at hand (pun not only indented, but positively chiselled in) in the guise of this OptiWand USB optical computer mouse which comes complete with its own internal fan that blows cool air through vents against your palm as you manoeuvre your rodent around the mat it calls home.

Offering an 800dpi optical sensor, this two button wheel mouse houses an internal fan rotating at 1500rpm which results in an constant airflow rated at 28 CFM being blown out of the device’s top mounted vents against your palm. And, as if that isn’t cool enough (the pun-countometer is truly ticking over here) the mouse also appears to have an internal light source that shines a blue light through said vents (the product shots show this illumination in action though, bizarrely, the product description fails to detail this feature).

OptiWand USB Optical Mouse Detail

Compatible with Windows 98/ME/200/XP based operating systems (Vista is notable by its absence) the OptiWand USB Optical Mouse will at least ensure that one of our hands remain comfortably cool, whilst the other is completely neglected, and retails for a mere $22.

This looks cool (pun intended) for the sweaty-handed game enthusiast.

I wonder if the gyroscopic effect of the spinning fan would have any significant impact on the “action” of the mouse.

    2. Good point – a great mouse to buy, therefore, for people such as me who persistently get their butts kicked in online FPS’s (it’s not me, it’s the mouse).
