Exploded iPod

Created as an experiment by Billy Chasen who cites those exploded diagrams of objects as inspiration, though we agree with a commenter that comparisons can also be drawn with some of Damien Hirst’s installations (particularly his animal installations), this exploded iPod MP3 player cast in clear resin purportedly still functions and is sure to appeal to all the deconstructivists amongst you.

Exploded iPod Detail

Supported by Lego bricks, Billy reports that his Exploded iPod can still be charged and listened to courtesy of a wire that extends out from the bottom of the resin block – hence the Lego brick stands - though he is yet to report as to whether the device suffers any overheating issues on account of its incarceration.

I’m sure Billy Chasen will be over the moon at his art being described as Hirstesque
