Apart from reacting to external sources via the line-in socket, the speaker will also react to other sound sources (such as a parent pleading with there child to turn the damn thing off) thanks to being sound activated and, just to really push parents to the edge of their sanity, it also comes with some suitably annoying built-in melodies which it will also strut its stuff to.
