Netsurfer Designer Computer Workstation Divan

Netsurfer Designer Computer Workstation Divan

Let’s be honest here, computer desks and workstations are, on the whole, hardly the most inspiring of items and even though many computer manufactures have long since moved away from the insipid beige boxes of old, computer desks seem to have progressed little in the design stakes – but that’s not something that can be said of this cool Netsurfer Computer Divan from Valvomo.

Acting to place you firmly in the driving seat as you surf the web or work on the computer, the Netsurfer features a reclining chair with integral keyboard table with arm rests though, whilst we are totally smitten with the overall design it would have been nice to see the monitor housed on a separate ledge rather than merely being placed on the computer base unit (thus allowing you to adjust the screens distance and tilt with ease).

Update: We’ve just been informed by a reader that the Netsurfer is nolonger in production (thanks Victor).

This looks great, but you’re right about the monitor and case.

The Monitor should ideally be on a stand, completely separate from the chair.

And no computer case should be THAT close to anyone’s nether bits.

    2. No, it’s a bit of a shame that whist the design is great, parts of it are a little lacking in some respects. Still, we’d have one in our room without hesitation.

      On a side note – I’ll drop you a mail tonight…

Being the designer of Netsurfer (with my colleague Teppo Asikainen) I find this quite amusing. And flattered to be noticed, of course. The story was that the Netsurfer was manufactured btw 1995-2002, sold in over 20 countries. ´95 was a long time ago, when computers were only emerging, compared to now. We´ve moved on, see http://www.valvomo.com for other work we´ve done.

Actually guys, according to the Finish site and company behind the Netsurfer desk, the desk is no longer in production.

    5. Thanks for the heads up, Victor – appreciated. I’ll amend the post accordingly.

found one in a antiques retail store in Odense in Denmark at Lauritz.com :) sadly it was sold 3 days ago, if it weren’t I would’ve snatched that up in a min!
