If you’re serious about the reproductive quality of your music then you’ll know that the last thing you need to do is pump your sounds through a pair of tiny, cheap speakers - but KEF’s limited edition MUON speakers take things to vastly opposing extremes in being almost seven feet in height (and that’s whilst standing on the floor) and costing a staggering $140,000.
Constructed from super-formed aluminium (which is described as being a similar process to vacuum forming) the resulting four-way speakers utilise KEF’s Acoustic Compliance Enhancement technology which, according to the official website effectively doubles the volume output via the absorption of air molecules courtesy of activated carbon – which, reading between the lines roughly translated to some serious volume (quite how much, however, is not actually stated).

Designed by Ross Lovegrove, the $140,000 KEF MUON speakers are strictly limited to a production run of just 100 pairs, so if you fancy them in your front room and you have a bank balance that can withstand such a pounding, you had better register your interest pronto.
