LAN Gaming Portable Computer in a Case

In an age of increasingly affordable broadband internet connections multiplayer gaming has never been more accessible, but there are times when you hanker to break free from the shadow of relative anonymity and face your opponents so you can see the whites of their eyes as you mercilessly cut them down for the umpteenth time and, to that end, LAN parties offer a truly up close and personal gaming experience – but getting your computer, monitor and associated gaming paraphernalia in place can often prove to be a logistical nightmare, that is unless you happen to own one of these highly portable computer systems known as the LPG370TS Lunchbox Computer.

Admittedly, you could, of course, just use a laptop on the basis that moving your entire desktop set up is not only a pain (unplugging everything, carrying it out to your car, setting everything up again at the other end….etc) but its often somewhat impractical. But the problem with laptops is that, thanks to the size of their screens, gaming can prove to be less than an immersive experience unless you ferry your desktop TFT as well – and then we’re back into the realms of a major logistical operation.

The LPG370TS Portable Computer (known as the Lunchbox Computer) is an altogether more practical solution.

Lunchbox Portable Computer

Built around an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz processor and offering dual nVidia 8800GTX graphic cards hooked together in SLI mode, the LPG370TS may not be at the extreme cutting edge of gaming machines but its by no means a slouch and ought to prove more than capable of running just about everything you throw at it and, in coming in the form of an easily portable case it should prove a breeze to relocate where required.

Based on the nForce 680i chipset, the LPG370TS also comes with 8 channel audio, dual gigabit LAN, Fireware 400 and USB 2.0 ports but where this particular device stands out is in the inclusion of no less than three 17” SXGA LCD screens (one centrally mounted, and two retractable) offering 1280 x 1024 resolution each which are set up to work as a single, high resolution, curved widescreen display.

Add to this that the units mouse and keyboard are also stored within the case and what you have is a sturdy, capable gaming computer that can be easily transported and set up within mere minutes which, ultimately, results in more multiplayer gaming time available.

At the time of writing pricing is available on a quote basis only so we are unable to ascertain just how much this will set you back but we think you’ll agree that the LPG370TS Lunchbox Computer is an extremely desirable piece of kit.
