Rainfall Measuring Wellington Boot

Rainfall Measuring Wellington Boot

Ever so often we come across one of those insanely simple ideas that, for one reason or another, result in something that is brilliant in its simplicity without being needlessly pompous – something that is, in short, quite simply happy to be what it is – and this Rainfall Measuring Wellington boot is a prime example of just such an item.

Arguably a d’rigour fashion accessory for festival goers (certainly in the UK) this Regina Regis Rain Wellington Boot may only differ from your regular, run-of-the-mill, otherwise wholly mundane Wellington boot thanks to the rain measuring scale imprinted on the boot’s sides but, with sea levels rising and flooding becoming an all too real threat to many, there could all too easily be a wider message here.

Whether a statement on our environment or just a fun take on an otherwise uninspiring item of protective footwear designed to keep out feet dry (but that always, somewhat curiously, always seem to fill with water) we love the striking simplicity an unpretentiousness of the design.

This is a boot that’s happy to be a boot. And if a boot is this at ease with what it is, there’s surely hope for us all.
