IamHuman Designer Skins for your Mac Notebooks

If you’re looking to add a little individuality to your Apple Mac notebooks you may be interested in the series of skins available from IamHuman which offer a series of easy to apply, self adhesive wood veneer and fabric based covers that are designed to add that little personalised spark to your computer.

Building upon the premise that Mac users are rather more creatively minded than mere PC users – something which, as a PC user, we’d certainly take issue with – the IamHuman skins come in various styles that range from somewhat understated handcrafted wooden veneers (including walnut, birch and bamboo) to somewhat bolder textile designs that also include designer textiles from the likes of Paul Smith.

The IamHuman skins are provided complete with 3M adhesive to allow for self application and range from $30 – £45 dependent on the chosen material. And, if you happen to misalign your cover whilst applying it to your notebook, don’t panic as, apparently, the adhesive has been designed to be re-positionable.

Alternatively, if you’re really looking to personalise your notebook, you could just scribe your signature on the casing with a permanent marker pen – but, as a PC user, perhaps I’m missing the point when it comes to off the shelf, purchasable means of portraying individuality.

Surely the “creative” computer owner would apply his own marbled paint job, instead of store-bought sticky-backed veneer?

Or even gilt bands, like I have on my harpsichord….

    Hi Ian,

Spot on. It’s always a bone of contention with me when a commercial outlet trades on the premise of their product/s offering creativity/individuality in terms of off the shelf non-limited solutions. It’s as if the irony of it all escapes them.
