Obox Personal Oxygen Generating Device

Anyone who has ever taken a lung full of pure oxygen will testify as to its invigorating qualities which act to stimulate brain activity and counter fatigue and, whilst personal oxygen cylinders are widely obtainable, this device, known as the Obox, offers a somewhat longer term solution thanks to generating increased oxygen levels according to requirement which is then administered via a headset.

Billed as being the world’s most compact oxygen generator – measuring a mere 35 x 35 x 15 cm and weighing less than 9kg – the Obox acts to filter the surrounding air of all impurities whilst increasing oxygen levels up to to 30% and, just for good measure, it also charges the resulting filtered air with negative ions.

The device comes with an integral digital display unit allowing you to easily regulate the supply of re-oxygenated air, with the manufactures recommending doses of fifteen minutes as being enough to combat fatigue, increase energy levels, decrease stress/anxiety and even (possibly) acting to detoxify the blood.

As to whether you need an Obox Personal Oxygen Generator, perhaps this spiel from the product’s website could offer a little clarification:

“When life forms similar as ourselves began to exist on this planet the oxygen in the air was between 38% to 50%. The oxygen present now is around 20% and in some cities around the world it has been measured to be a staggering 9% to 11%.”

Somewhat menacingly it adds, “If the oxygen drops below 7% life as we know it simply can not exist.”

Scary stuff. In fact almost as scary as this:

The Obox Personal Oxygen Generator – which now also comes in a 2-man version (sorry ladies, but you’re obviously only there to filter the pollution from standard air) – retails for £595, which is approximately $1216 / € 852 at the time of writing excluding shipping.

And, if this gadget is a little out of your price range, and you just want to breathe cleaner air, fear not, because you could always opt for this USB Face Mask Air Purifier (just don’t expect it to be particularly effective).
