Curious Mini Shopping Cart Models – Collectable, Probably

You just have to complete a few searches on the net to realise that the market in collectable miniatures is immense and covers just about everything from cars to houses and even miniature designer chairs but, whilst we like to think we’re fairly broadminded here at TFTS, we just cannot quite get our heads around these curious mini shopping trolleys.
Leaving aside the fact that these are shopping carts for a moment, the quality of the craftsmanship and the level of detail is actually quite astounding, with each cart being constructed from metal and coming complete with working castor wheels and even a working, folding child seat. They are even stackable.

Somewhat more bizarrely is the fact that, as can be seen in the animation above, whilst these are miniatures, as far as miniatures go they’re actually alarmingly large, with each model measuring in at 14cm in height and 15cm in length.
Perhaps it’s just us but we really can’t quite fathom who would want these on their mantle piece or in their display case but, just in case you’re reading this and simply cannot envisage living without one of these, you can purchase them from this online store.

The giveaway that these are NOT accurate models of shopping trolleys is the phrase “working castor wheels”
….with no tendency to veer to either the left or right….That’s a good point Steve. Not accurate at all.
Just thought you would like to know of one possible use for these little shopping trolleys – my daughter wants to put her wedding bombonnierres in them, and put on the table for guests to take home – because she and her husband met in the supermarket!
Unfortunately I cannot order from the site you have linked, because I simply don’t have time to learn Korean. Maree
Maree – We’ll I’d never have thought of that! Great idea though, unfortunately I have not seen them listed elsewhere otherwise I’d happily pass you the link.
Good luck with the wedding!
I have a red one with working wheels welded on the frame and I have seen similar real ones with swivel wheels (which looks more like the real thing) They cost more though.
