LG Viewty 5MP DivX Certified Camera Cell Phone

Those of you looking to view DivX videos on your cell phone without having to endure the aggravating process of file conversion into supported formats will no doubt welcome LG’s up and coming LG-KU990 Viewty camera cell phone with open arms thanks to its DivX certification – but, whilst full DivX compatibility is undoubtedly a distinct selling point, its by no means the limit of its appeal.
Coming with an integral 5 megapixel camera complete with auto and manual focus as well as image stabilisation, the LG-KU990 Viewty offers image capture capabilities directly comparable with low to lower-mid range digital cameras whilst also offering 120 fps video recording functionality (the resulting footage being stored on a MicroSD card) and even handwriting recognition via its 3” LCD touch screen (which, out of interest, offers vibration feedback to promote a more tactile user experience).
Naturally the LG-KU990 Viewty also offers a music player supporting MP3, AAC, WMA, WMV and AMR formats, speakerphone functionality and, add to that the device’s ability to upload and download video footage to/from You Tube and we could almost forgive the phone’s lack of Wi-Fi – we say almost as, in anyone’s book, this surely counts as a serious omission, especially on such an otherwise impressively high spec device.
The LG-KU990 Viewty camera cell phone is due to become available from October in Europe though, at the time of writing, there’s no news concerning a US release date.

Hi Max,
Actually I quite like it to be honest – not least because its getting away for the otherwise increasingly seemingly formulaic styling of cell phones these days.
Out of interest, what cell phones do it for you (aesthetically speaking)?
