KansaSD MP3 Player Makes Our Blood Boil

If, as a manufacturer, you’re going to square up to the likes of Apple in the MP3 digital player market the least you could do is try to offer a distinct alternative rather than a pale imitation of an iPod. Japanese company Greenhouse, however, apparently believe that you can offer what is, in essence, a watered down iPod and we, as consumers, will come flocking wallets in hand. It’s pitiful and it’s also somewhat patronising.
Greenhouse’s KanaSD MP3 player is the sort of MP3 player that, in case you hadn’t guessed, makes our blood boil. The very idea that you can basically churn out a pale imitation of an iPod (we recognise that navigation wheel from somewhere) and that we, as consumers, will fall for it is frankly appalling.

It’s not even as if this KanaSD MP3 player knocks us dead with its specifications. It comes with no internal memory of its own, instead relying on SD cards for storage, and apart from offering play, skip and pause functions that’s about your lot.
Billed as being an iPod Shuffle alternative by a number of sites, this is the sort of device that we’d expect a primary school child to design (whilst casting the odd glance at his/her Shuffle for ‘inspiration’) and, as far as we are concerned, it’s the MP3 player equivalent of a holiday camp entertainer (with only half the personality).
Our advice to electronics manufactures is this: if you cannot come up with a device that at least offers some originality why not just move on and save us all from pale imitations whilst also saving the planet from more material destined for landfill.
File under trash.

I think you are completely wrong about the Kanas MP3 player. Apple is selling there products at inflated prices. They require you to use itunes which sucks and they have no sd card especially a one that accepts sd hc cards. This is a unique device and its real cheap. Apple sucks.
